Croeso gan y Pennaeth

Mae'n bleser gennyf gyflwyno'r wefan hon i chi gan obeithio y cewch chi flas o’r hyn a gynigir yn Ysgol Gymraeg Gwenllian.

Dyma un o'r ysgolion penodedig Cymraeg gyntaf ardal Llanelli a sefydlwyd yn 1968. Naw o  blant oedd yn yr ysgol yn y dyddiau cynnar ond bellach mae’r ysgol wedi tyfu yn sylweddol. Daw’r disgyblion atom o dref Cydweli ac o’r ardaloedd gwledig cyfagos. Mae'r ysgol wedi tyfu eto yn ddiweddar wrth i fwy a mwy o rieni weld gwerth mewn addysg Gymraeg. Mae yna gynnydd  sylweddol yn y nifer o rieni di-Gymraeg sy’n danfon eu plant i’r ysgol wrth iddynt weld manteision dwyieithrwydd ac rydym yn croesawu hyn.

Ymfalchïwn yn y ffaith ein bod ni yn ysgol gyfeillgar, hapus ac agored, sy'n awyddus iawn i weithio mewn partneriaeth â’n rhieni er mwyn i’n disgyblion gyrraedd eu llawn botensial. Anogwn ein disgyblion i barchu  eraill a dangos cariad tuag at eu gwlad, iaith, diwylliant a threftadaeth.

Estynnir croeso cynnes i chi rhieni i ymuno yn holl weithgareddau’r ysgol, ac edrychwn ymlaen at bartneriaeth hapus, llwyddiannus a ffrwythlon yn ystod addysg gynradd eich plentyn.

A welcome from the Headteacher

I have the pleasure of introducing this website and I sincerely hope that it will provide you with an insight into what Ysgol Gymraeg Gwenllian has to offer your child.

We were one of the first designated Welsh medium school's in the Llanelli area established in 1968.  There were only nine pupils in the school during the early years but by now the school has grown significantly. The children come from the town of Kidwelly and the surrounding rural areas, however the school has grown further recently as more and more parents have seen the value of a Welsh medium education. There has also been a marked increase in the number of non Welsh speaking parents that send their children to the school as they see the advantages of bilingualism. We're also looking forward to moving in to our state of the art new building very soon.

We take pride in the fact that we are a friendly, open and happy school. We are very keen to work in partnership with parents so that our pupils achieve their full potential. We encourage children to respect others and demonstrate a love towards their country, language, culture and heritage.

You are invited as parents to participate in all the school’s activities, and we look forward to a happy, successful and fruitful partnership during your child’s primary education.
